Sandra J. Buzney

Sandra J. Buzney joined the Firm as an associate in November 1999 and became a shareholder in 2005.

Sandra graduated with honors from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in May 1999. She was named the second place winner of the 1999 Elaine Osborne Jacobson Award for Women in Health Care Law, a national award of the Roscoe Pound Foundation. Sandra also has a Master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Sandra is also a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio with extensive experience working with elderly and chronically ill individuals and their families.

Sandra focuses her practice in the areas of elder law, probate, Medicaid planning and consultation, and estate planning. She is a member of the Brain Injury Coalition of Cleveland and is an active member of the Elder Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is also a member of the Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Bar Associations and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).

Sandra is a frequent speaker on topics of elder law and Medicaid eligibility.  She has also written articles for newsletters of various non-profit organizations that provide services to the elderly and/or individuals with disabilities.
