Are you a Native Puerto Rican? If so, this article will interest you. A law enacted by Puerto Rico last year to combat identity theft may leave you needing a new birth certificate. The $5 fee associated with obtaining a new certificate is minimal compared to the issues arising from having an invalid certificate. The issue at hand seems to be getting the word out as the news conference held in Puerto Rico regarding this issue did not get the national media attention it had hoped. Help spread the word!
